Preventive Check-ups

Early diagnosis of metabolic, oncological and orthopaedic conditions.

About this specialization

Regular preventive check-ups help catch diseases and changes in health at the stage when treatment is most effective. Even subtle changes can be the first sign of a developing problem, which is why prevention has an important place in the care of every patient.

We recommend a preventive check-up at least once a year for adult animals. For seniors over 7 years we recommend check-ups twice a year, so that we can monitor their health regularly and catch any disease as early as possible.

What it includes

  • Comprehensive physical examination
  • Blood and urine tests
  • Recommended once a year (seniors twice)
  • Early detection of cancer

Frequently asked questions

Why have a check-up when my animal is healthy?

Many diseases (heart, kidney, cancer) develop slowly and without signs. A preventive check-up reveals them at an early stage, when treatment is most effective and least expensive.

What does a preventive check-up include?

A complete physical examination (heart, lungs, abdomen, musculoskeletal system, eyes, teeth, joints), blood count, biochemistry profile and urinalysis. For seniors we add an abdominal ultrasound and an ECG.

How often should I come?

Adult animals at least once a year. Seniors (over 7 years) twice a year. Breeds predisposed to certain diseases may need specific screening more often.
